Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Nuclear is seeking a Senior Robotics Engineer to design, develop and deploy robotic and perception systems for real-world engineering environments. You will work on mobile robots, perception pipelines and autonomous navigation, collaborating across engineering teams to deliver safe, reliable solutions.

You will contribute across the full lifecycle, from problem framing and technical approach to integration, testing and field deployment, while mentoring peers and promoting robust

Qualifications

• Strong foundations in robotics and autonomous systems.
• Hands-on ROS2 experience in Linux-based environments.
• Experience with CI/CD and modern engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate mobile robotic systems, including ROS2-based software in Linux.
• Shape autonomous navigation capabilities across localisation, mapping, and path planning.
• Support safe operation with obstacle detection, rerouting, and operator controls.
• Develop computer vision and perception pipelines spanning 2D/3D data, deep learning and scene understanding.
• Integrate multimodal data for navigation, inspection and mapping tasks.
• Create deployment-ready solutions using edge computing, containers and secure communications.
• Lead testing, troubleshooting and continuous improvement across hardware and software.
• Collaborate with field teams and document solutions for knowledge sharing.
