Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Senior Road Restraint Systems Engineer to join our team in the East region, with offices in Bedford, Cambridge or Ipswich. You will identify and evaluate asset data to develop early solutions, and contribute to the design of highway renewals and maintenance schemes.

The role requires Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status to be desirable, a relevant degree or HND, and strong knowledge of asset condition modelling, DMRB standards, and cost-benefit analysis.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in relevant discipline required.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead identification and evaluation of asset data to develop early solutions.
• Monitor delivery of early solutions and coordinate with design/construction teams.
• Prepare briefs and support survey works for asset improvement/renewal.
• Develop technical briefs for contractors and renewals work.
• Perform technical reviews of third party designs for compliance with standards.
• Mentor and develop more junior team members.
