Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking a Project Risk & Opportunity Specialist in Glasgow to lead risk and opportunity management across end-to-end project delivery. You will develop risk registers, manage monthly risk requirements across multiple projects, and ensure plans meet policy, procedure and commercial needs.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or project/construction management, with postgraduate qualifications desirable. APM Chartered Professional status is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Developing project risk registers and managing monthly risk requirements.
• Lead on risk and opportunity management across end-to-end project delivery.
• Development and implementation of Risk & Opportunity plans aligned to policy and commercial needs.
• Analysis of risk and production of risk performance reports with conclusions.
• Experience in a highly regulated industry; defence exposure advantageous.
• Experience in specialist risk and opportunity positions.
• Awareness of contracting methodologies (FIDIC/NEC3-NEC4/JCT).
• Experience across full project lifecycle from bid to close out.
• A bachelor's degree in engineering / project / construction management or related field.
• Postgraduate qualification desirable; membership in a professional body.
• APM qualification preferably Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) advantageous

Responsibilities

• Part of the project controls team, developing project risk registers and managing monthly risk requirements on multiple projects.
• Lead on risk and opportunity management across end-to-end project delivery phases; facilitate risk identifications and assessments.
• Develop and implement Project Risk & Opportunity Management plans aligned with policy and commercial needs.
• Analyze risk and produce risk performance reports with conclusions and recommendations.
• Manage and control time and cost risk contingency; align risk management with business financial needs.
• Utilise experience in a highly regulated industry (defence advantageous).
• Leverage contracting knowledge across various methodologies (FIDIC/NEC3-NEC4/JCT).
• Work across full project lifecycle from bid phase to close out.
