A global professional services company is seeking a Senior Project Risk Management Professional/Director to lead their Scotland Infrastructure Risk team. You will manage risk processes, interface with senior management, and promote risk management benefits across projects. Candidates must have significant management experience in Risk Management on complex projects and strong leadership skills. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Risk Management Professional/Director to join our expanding Scotland Infrastructure Risk team. The role involves supporting the development, management, and leadership of our Scotland Infrastructure Risk function while contributing to our national risk management community.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead:
  • Manage and delegate activities of the Risk Management team on complex projects or programmes.
  • Communicate with Senior Management and stakeholders to deliver updates.
• Accountable for:
  • Briefing the team on the project scope to ensure roles and responsibilities are understood.
  • Developing and maintaining leadership relationships with interfacing disciplines.
  • Line management activities including career development and performance management.
• Drive:
  • Continuous improvement in Risk Management (and interfacing disciplines) processes to create efficiency and increase benefits to our clients.
  • Implementation, embedding and roll‑out of any identified changes to Risk Management processes.
• Promote:
  • The benefits and requirements of Risk Management within the project and programme team.
• Provide:
  • Subject Matter Expertise.
  • Expert analysis (e.g. QCRA, QSRA etc.) to relevant stakeholders and senior management, supporting effective decision making.
  • Training and coaching to clients and less experienced team members on Risk Management processes and practices.
• Support:
  • Management of the risk management team and associated business operation activities.
  • Turner & Townsend’s recruitment activities to grow and develop the project controls capability.
  • The national and regional Risk Management communities, including Community of Practice.

• Practical experience of several risk standards or approaches (ISO31000, APM, Orange Book, IPA), of Quantitative Risk Analysis and associated software (e.g. Safran, @risk, PRA etc.) and comparative experience of risk tools (ARM, Predict!, Risk Controller, riskHive, Xactium) is essential.
• The ability to work in both delivery and transformation projects is desirable.
• Familiarity with NEC contracts is desirable.
• Security Clearance Requirements is desirable.
