Job Title: Senior Risk Officer

As our Senior Risk Officer, you will work with the Head of Risk to support the development, delivery, and embedding of the Risk Strategy, Risk Management Framework, and annual risk management plan. You will serve as a technical lead and referral point for all risk management queries, assisting the business in adopting, understanding, embedding, and meeting the requirements of the Risk Management Framework and related standards and processes.

1. Support the regular review and development of MIB’s Risk Management Framework, standards, and processes.
2. Support the implementation of risk management practices and oversee their application across the organization to ensure effective risk identification and management.
3. Manage and oversee the Risk Event reporting process.
4. Design and produce regular risk reports for all organizational levels.
5. Assist in developing and maintaining Risk Registers, providing oversight and challenge.
6. Conduct annual ISO27001 control audits to maintain Information Security accreditation.
7. Maintain the Enterprise Risk Registers to support top risk assessment.
8. Perform periodic checks of risk management activities, providing feedback and reporting on findings.
9. Support the implementation and maintenance of risk management systems, procedures, and tools.
10. Promote a strong risk culture throughout the organization to foster transparency and accountability.
11. Seek continuous improvements to the Risk Management Framework, including its development, awareness, adoption, and adherence.
12. Chair risk meetings as needed to discuss and promote risk management practices.
13. Provide pragmatic guidance on risk management requirements and their application.
14. Identify and report emerging risks with recommended mitigation strategies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience working in a regulated environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to influence decision-making across all levels, including senior leaders and executives.
• Proactive in anticipating issues, identifying solutions, and providing clear guidance.
• Relevant risk management qualification.
• Strong risk management experience.
• Stakeholder management skills.

Additional Details

Salary circa £65,000 per annum depending on experience. Grade 13. 35 hours per week (Monday - Friday). IT kit supplied. Start-up allowance of £320 (pre-tax). Hybrid working (2 days in the office per week) from Milton Keynes, MK14.
