Opportunity: Senior Risk Analyst

BHSI is seeking a Senior Risk Analyst to join the Risk team in London. This diverse and dynamic role involves working with the Chief Risk Officer to oversee the risk management framework. The Risk team collaborates with all business units, acts as a second line of defense, and ensures risks and controls are properly managed by the first line. The team supports achieving business objectives through risk management and independent challenge of underwriting activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform quarterly risk and control assessments across all risk types, engaging with risk owners for effective management.
• Monitor company performance against risk appetite statements.
• Conduct 2nd Line assurance testing on the control environment.
• Perform risk assessments and due diligence on third-party service providers for Risk Committee and Board approval.
• Participate in thematic reviews per the annual Risk plan.
• Collaborate on the production and documentation of the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA).
• Work with business units on operational resilience.
• Identify and monitor risk incidents and near misses.
• Prepare management information reports for internal Committees and regulators.
• Assist in enhancing and developing the Risk Management Framework.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

• At least 4 years of risk management experience in financial services; qualified accountant or similar preferred.
• Experience in preparing and presenting high-quality reports for stakeholders.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills; friendly and approachable professional.
• Ability to manage competing demands efficiently in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
