Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking an experienced Risk Manager for a contract role in the defence and security sector, based in Southampton or Basildon. You will implement and govern project risk management across an Electronics Division, providing independent oversight and constructive challenge to Integrated Project Teams.

You will support risk identification, quantification and reporting, coaching Risk Managers and driving continuous improvement of risk processes.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in project or programme risk management in complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise and project risk management frameworks, standards and governance.
• Experience linking risk exposure to project performance and contingency planning.
• Numerate with experience in quantitative risk analysis and Monte Carlo techniques.
• Excellent ability to translate risk information into clear, concise insights for senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Apply the project risk management framework across the full project lifecycle from bid to execution.
• Provide independent oversight and assurance against risk policies and standards.
• Support project teams in identifying, assessing and managing risks and opportunities.
• Advise on risk treatment, contingency setting and escalation requirements.
• Analyse residual risk with quantitative methods to support forecasting and decision-making.
• Prepare risk reports for governance forums and senior stakeholders.
• Facilitate risk identification and assurance workshops with expert guidance.
• Coach and mentor Project Risk Managers to promote a strong risk culture.
