Job summary

AJ FOX COMPLIANCE, a leading UK law firm, seeks a Team Leader in Risk & Compliance to help lead the risk and compliance function. You will oversee business acceptance, conflicts clearance and ongoing monitoring while supporting the firm’s broader risk agenda.

You will bring extensive compliance experience, especially in conflicts, CDD and AML within a law firm. You’ll mentor analysts, prioritise workloads and provide risk-based guidance to partners and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a risk and compliance function within a law firm.
• Strong knowledge of conflicts of interest checks, CDD, KYC, AML and sanctions.
• Excellent communication, judgement, and people-management skills.
• Ability to prioritise and make risk-based decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Supervise compliance analysts handling conflicts, CDD, risk assessments.
• Prioritise and allocate incoming work including new client inception and payment queries.
• Provide clear advice on CDD, KYC, AML, sanctions and business acceptance.
• Interpret legislation and internal policies to support risk-based decisions.
• Act as a key contact for partners and staff across the firm.
• Monitor workloads and service levels with fellow Team Leaders and managers.
• Conduct supervision meetings and address performance and attendance.
• Contribute to projects, training materials and governance reporting.
• Develop management reporting for senior management and boards.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and promote compliant culture.
