Role Overview:

Reporting to the Manager Risk, the incumbent will support daily reporting of exposure, P&L, and the evaluation of risk within the trading portfolio. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in process management, project implementation, and stakeholder communication. The incumbent will develop risk reporting systems and align international practices with global reporting models and risk assessment principles. Leadership development through coaching of less experienced team members and new hires is also a key aspect of this role.

Primary Function/Responsibilities:
  1. Operate as lead regional analyst, coordinating junior analysts for a subset of Commercial trading desks.
  2. Coach and mentor less experienced team members in reviewing, analyzing, and preparing daily risk reports.
  3. Review the consolidated end-of-day performance report and authorize publication to the global trading organization.
  4. Support the preparation and submission of global reports such as drawdown analysis, cargo reporting, and VaR reviews.
  5. Ensure accuracy of core data like price feeds, curves, and setup configurations in systems of record.
  6. Drive process improvements and reporting alignment initiatives locally and globally.
  7. Collaborate across functions on projects to improve business processes and reporting quality.
Required Skills / Competencies:
  • 5+ years of experience in energy commodities risk management.
  • Legal right to work in the UK without restrictions; eligibility for employer sponsorship if applicable.
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with Visual Basic is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical skills for complex data analysis and conclusion drawing.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on action and accountability.
  • Understanding of marine transportation, logistics, chartering, commodity trading, and derivatives is preferred.
  • Strong multi-tasking and leadership abilities, capable of influencing at all levels.
  • Ability to work effectively in both local and global teams.
  • Commitment to personal learning and sharing knowledge with others.
