Job summary

Manchester Royal Infirmary is seeking a Specialist Respiratory Physiologist (Band 6) to join the Pulmonary Function team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role sits within NHS AfC Band 6 with a salary in the range of £39,959–£48,117 per year.

You will perform routine and complex respiratory and sleep tests, report findings, and contribute to research and service improvement in a digitally advanced Trust.

Qualifications

• Post-registration experience in healthcare science.
• Keen eye for detail and commitment to quality in diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Plan, perform, and independently report on complex respiratory and sleep diagnostics, including CPET and bronchial provocation.
• Analyse highly complex clinical data to formulate accurate technical reports and share results with senior staff.
• Mentor and teach junior healthcare scientists and students.
• Oversee equipment calibration and quality assurance to meet clinical standards.
• Contribute to departmental research, audits, and service evaluation.
