Job summary

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a consultant post leading respiratory services. The role blends clinical leadership with bronchoscopy, thoracic ultrasound and teaching with HYMS. You will supervise junior doctors and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education.

The post requires GMC registration and entry on the Specialist Register, with potential involvement in medical thoracoscopy and flexible working arrangements agreed with management.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
• MRCP.
• Completed Royal College of Physicians training programme for consultant status.
• Specific training in respiratory medicine.

Responsibilities

• Lead respiratory services across northern Lincolnshire.
• Provide a first-class clinical service.
• Contribute to adult general internal medicine on a 1:12 rota.
• Deliver timely bronchoscopies.
• Work within the thoracic ultrasound service of the Diagnostic Investigation Unit.
• Shape and develop the respiratory service and its sub-specialties.
• Provide clinic sessions with allocated administration time.
• Lead junior doctors and medical students.
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate learners with HYMS.
• Train advanced care practitioners with Sheffield University.
• Help expand the service into medical thoracoscopy.
• Keep practice evidence-based and up to date with CPD and revalidation.
