Job summary

UK Power Networks in Chatham is seeking a Work Planner to join the Client Delivery team. You will schedule staff across maintenance, inspections and projects, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely delivery of works.

The role reports to the Client Delivery Manager and is based in our Chatham office. A salary of £56,576 plus a 3% bonus and an excellent benefits package awaits the successful candidate.

Qualifications

• Minimum of City & Guilds 2339 (Formally 232) in Electrical & Electronic Theory or equivalent.
• Ideally an ONC or HNC in an engineering discipline.
• The post holder shall have, or be willing to attain, an IOSH Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
• LV/HV authorisation on the SPN/EPN distribution network
• Technically competent with the ability to apply engineering principles to problem solving

Responsibilities

• Owns the Teams Planning Board to deploy staff across maintenance, inspections, projects and reactive works.
• Provide technical support to Engineering Team Leaders in the construction and processing of work orders in SAP (CRM/PM/MRS).
• Monitor demand vs capacity to inform weekly/monthly work plans.
• Create work packages that bundle work efficiently for Engineering Team Leaders.
• Collaborate with the P6 Planner to review programmes and confirm deliverables.
• Liaise with Local Authorities and contractors to ensure compliance with roadworks acts.
• Maintain a register of all incoming projects and allocate work accordingly.
• Support design colleagues and route customer enquiries appropriately.
• Review weekly achievement against plan and produce reports.
• Ensure costs are allocated to jobs for timely closure.
• Apply agile programming to respond to changes in demand and resources
• Promote internal resource first, before external support.
• Identify opportunities for performance improvement and implement changes.
• Assist other sections as required.
