Job summary

YourRecruit Ltd operates a 4-bed Ofsted-rated Good children's home in Yarnton near Oxford. We are seeking an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to provide therapeutic, child‑centred care and lead shifts within the residential team.

You will build positive relationships, support daily routines and education, contribute to care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding, and help create a safe, homely environment.

Qualifications

• 12 months' experience working with children and young people.
• Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare / Caring for Children and Young People.
• Experience or knowledge of therapeutic, child-centred approaches.
• Ability to lead, support and guide other members of the residential team.
• Good written communication and record-keeping skills.
• Flexibility to work long-day shifts, weekends and sleep-ins.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Existing right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Building positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Supporting daily routines, education, activities and independence.
• Providing consistent boundaries and therapeutic support.
• Leading shifts and supporting less experienced members of the team.
• Contributing to care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
• Maintaining accurate daily records and incident documentation.
• Supporting safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Working closely with managers, social workers and other professionals.
• Helping create a safe, positive and homely environment.
