Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker for a dedicated children’s residential service in Corby, Northamptonshire. The role leads a team of support workers, delivering high‑quality care for children and young people with EBD and challenging behaviours.

It requires leadership, safeguarding expertise and OFSTED knowledge, with flexibility for evenings, weekends and sleep-ins. The role offers a competitive salary, pension benefits and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People (or willingness to complete).
• Experience in a children’s residential setting, ideally in a senior/lead capacity.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and OFSTED regulations.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise support staff, including mentoring and performance management.
• Act as a senior role model, promoting best practice with EBD and challenging behaviours.
• Lead safeguarding, risk assessments and individual care planning.
• Support shifts and ensure OFSTED compliance.
• Contribute to team training and development initiatives.
• Assist with staff rotas and resource management.
• Support children and young people’s emotional needs and de-escalation.
• Assist with record-keeping and reporting.
