Contract Type: Full-time, permanent

Salary:
Unqualified: Base salary of £27,519.96 with the potential to earn up to £32,919.96 with sleep-in shifts.
Qualified (full diploma Level 5 qualified or equivalent): Base salary of £28,128.36 with the potential to earn up to £33,528.36 with sleep-in shifts.

Specific Hours: 39 hours per week - shift pattern

At Dove Adolescent Services, we support young people within our care to develop emotional resilience and achieve their full potential in all areas of their lives. Our ethos fosters appropriate relationships with young people and their significant others to support their transitions into adulthood.

We are currently seeking Senior Residential Child Care Workers to join our new home in Eggborough.

Main Responsibilities
  • Complete key domestic duties daily to maintain a homely environment
  • Encourage development of interests and attitudes by planning and participating in activities
  • Promote, safeguard, and protect the welfare of each young person in accordance with Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018; assess needs and contribute to care and risk plans
  • Establish and maintain positive, trusting relationships with young people
  • Manage behaviour positively and assertively according to care and risk management plans
  • Consult with young people to promote a healthy lifestyle
  • Motivate and assist young people in developing positive networks with adults and peers, including families
  • Participate in developing, implementing, and reviewing care packages through team meetings and supervisions
  • Attend and advocate for young people in childcare reviews
All applicants must have
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • Understanding and commitment to the 24/7 role, including weekends and bank holidays; undertake sleep-in duties as part of a flexible rota
  • Experience supporting vulnerable young people
  • Ability to work independently with high accuracy and maintain clear records
  • Good interpersonal skills and a positive team attitude
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Ability to complete daily statutory and policy records
  • Empathetic nature
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and encourage young people
