SeniorResidential Childcare Support Worker

Contract Type : Full-time, permanent

Salary : Unqualified: Basesalary of £27,519.96 with the potential to earn up to a total of£32,919.96 with sleep in shifts.

Qualified (fulldiploma Level 5 qualified or equivalent): Base salary of£28,128.36 with the potential to earn up to a total of £33,528.36 withsleep in shifts.

Specific Hours : 39 hoursper week- shift pattern

We are currently looking for Senior Residential Child Care Workersto join our services in Barnsley.

Main responsibilities

• Completekey domestic duties on a day-to-day basis that ensure a homelyenvironment is maintained
• Encourage the development ofindividual interests and attitudes by planning, organising andparticipating in activities
• To promote, safeguard and protectthe welfare of each young person in accordance with Working Togetherto Safeguard Children 2018. To assess individual needs and contributeto care and risk plans
• Establish and maintain positive andtrusting relationships with the young people
• Manage behaviourpositively and assertively by working in line with specified care andrisk management plans
• Consult with young people to promotethe development of a healthy lifestyle
• Motivate and assistyoung people in developing and sustaining positive networks withadults and peer groups, including families
• Participate in thedevelopment, implementation and review of packages of care throughteam meetings, supervisions
• Attend, and where necessaryadvocate for the Young Person, in child care reviews

All applicants must have

• Understanding and commitment to the role, which is 24/7,including weekends and bank holidays. Undertake sleep-in duties aspart of flexible rota.
• Experience of supporting young peoplewho may be vulnerable is essential
• Be capable of working ontheir own initiative to a high level of accuracy, maintain clear, neatrecords
• Have good inter-personal skills, and be a positiveteam player
• Computer experience to an intermediate level
• The ability to complete daily records to meet statutory andpolicy
• Empathetic nature
• Good oral and writtencommunication skills in a variety of contexts
• The ability toengage, motivate and encourage young people
