Job Title: Senior Residential Childcare Support Worker

Contract Type: Full-time, permanent

Salary:

• Unqualified: Base salary of £27,519.96, with potential to earn up to £32,919.96 with sleep-in shifts.
• Qualified (full diploma Level 5 or equivalent): Base salary of £28,128.36, with potential to earn up to £33,528.36 with sleep-in shifts.

Specific Hours: 39 hours per week, shift pattern

At Dove Adolescent Services, we support young people in developing emotional resilience to reach their full potential. Our ethos is fostering appropriate relationships with young people and their significant others to support transitions into adulthood.

We are currently seeking Senior Residential Child Care Workers to join our team in Barnsley.

Main Responsibilities

• Complete key domestic duties daily to maintain a homely environment
• Encourage development of interests and attitudes through planning and participating in activities
• Promote, safeguard, and protect the welfare of each young person according to Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018; assess needs and contribute to care and risk plans
• Establish and maintain positive, trusting relationships with young people
• Manage behaviour positively and assertively per care and risk management plans
• Consult with young people to promote healthy lifestyles
• Motivate and support young people in developing positive networks with adults, peers, and families
• Participate in care package development, implementation, and review through team meetings and supervisions
• Attend and advocate for young people in childcare reviews

All Applicants Must Have

• Understanding and commitment to the 24/7 role, including weekends and bank holidays; undertake sleep-in duties as part of a flexible rota
• Experience supporting vulnerable young people
• Ability to work independently with high accuracy and maintain clear records
• Good interpersonal skills and a positive team attitude
• Intermediate computer skills
• Ability to complete daily statutory and policy records
