Job summary

Salutem Care and Education in Bedford is seeking a Senior Support Worker for Orchard House, a learning disability home for children with complex needs. You will work under the Deputy and Registered Manager to deliver high-quality care, support wellbeing, education, and daily activities.

You will recruit and induct staff, manage rosters, follow Ofsted guidance, and contribute to a nurturing, safe environment where children can develop confidence and social skills.

Qualifications

• Wealth of experience in a support worker role.
• Commitment to empowering young people and building meaningful relationships.
• Ability to collaborate with professionals to create bespoke care plans.

Responsibilities

• Work under the Deputy and Registered Manager to deliver quality care, promoting health, welfare, education and development of young people.
• Take on-call duties outside of working hours in line with regulations and procedures.
• Participate in the assessment of potential new admissions to the home.
• Provide supervision for designated support workers and night waking staff.
• Assist in recruitment, interviewing and induction of staff.
• Support rostering to meet contractual and care needs of each young person.
