Job summary

Environment Agency is seeking an experienced leader to head the Reservoir Regulation team and drive regulation across England to ensure public safety under the Reservoirs Act.

You will lead strategic priorities, develop a high‑performing culture, and work with Defra and external partners on reform initiatives, while guiding a dispersed national team responsible for England's large raised reservoirs.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Regulation, Civil Engineering, Law or related subject to Reservoir Regulation.
• Strategic leadership with ability to translate strategy into delivery.
• Proven track record of driving high performance and psychological safety.
• Innovative thinking with ability to challenge assumptions.
• Confident decision‑making under pressure and pace.
• Influential collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead proactive stakeholder management to build trust and enable collaboration.
• Set strategic priorities aligned to EA Regulatory strategy and drive delivery.
