Job summary

The Emerald Group in London is seeking a Reserving Analyst to work with the Head of Reserving and the actuarial team on GAAP and ultimate reserving, and performance management for managing agency lines.

You will assist with quarterly reserving for Syndicate lines, develop reserving MI, assess performance and communicate reserve uncertainty to stakeholders, while building your actuarial progression alongside exams.

Qualifications

• Strong academic background: Numerate/Statistical degree and making good progress with Actuarial exams
• Insurance/Commercial Knowledge: Some experience across particular products and/or lines of business written at Beat and some knowledge of Lloyd’s market is desirable
• IT Skills: Competent user of MS Excel; VBA, Access, PowerBI and general coding skills desirable
• Knowledge of reserving software such as ResQ/InsurSight highly desirable

Work alongside the Head of Reserving and wider Actuarial team to manage the Reserving processes, both GAAP and ultimate, and performance management across the Managing Agency
