Job summary

The Actuary in London seeks an experienced Reserving Actuary on the leadership track to eventually head the reserving function. The role offers broad exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic input across a complex London Market portfolio.

You will oversee reserving for multiple classes, guide business decisions with high-quality actuarial insight, and lead a team delivering best practice and automation in reserving.

Qualifications

• Qualified Actuary (or equivalent experience)
• Extensive London Market reserving experience
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, Solvency UK and IFRS 17
• Previous team leadership or people management experience
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong commercial mindset and actuarial judgement
• Knowledge of Python, R or SQL beneficial

A leading global insurance business is seeking an experienced Reserving Actuary to join its London actuarial leadership team with succession to a Head of role in the short-medium term.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established Reserving Manager or Senior Reserving Actuary looking to take on broader responsibility, gain greater exposure to senior stakeholders and play a key role in shaping reserving strategy across a complex London Market portfolio.

Reporting to the Head of Reserving, you will oversee the reserving process across multiple classes of business whilst acting as a key partner to underwriting, claims, finance and risk teams. The role combines technical reserving expertise with leadership, stakeholder engagement and strategic input into business planning and portfolio management.

You'll have responsibility for driving reserving best practice, leading reserving investigations and supporting critical business decisions through high-quality actuarial insight.
