• Review data slides to streamline optimization and data analysis of immune histochemistry and immunofluorescence readouts.
• Help manage external vendors and CRO in support of histology assays.
• Develop new assays or optimize existing ones based on in-depth knowledge of laboratory techniques.
• Analyzing and accurately documenting assay results in an electronic lab notebook or other technical reporting formats.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a Senior Research Associate, Histology contractor to join the Platform Group at Mirai Bio to support laboratory research activities towards development of novel technologies enabling next generation genomic medicines. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the technical and equipment needs in a lab as well as significant hands-on experience with standard histology, cell culturing and in vitro cell biology techniques. They will work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performing laboratory assays and tasks including processing tissues for histology, plate-based reporter assays and additional in vitro assays
• Review data slides to streamline optimization and data analysis of immune histochemistry and immuno florescence readouts
• Help manage external vendors and CRO in support of histology assays
• Developing new assays or optimizing existing ones based on in-depth knowledge of laboratory techniques.
• Analyzing and accurately documenting assay results in an electronic lab notebook or other technical reporting formats

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• BS or MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related scientific discipline
• BS + 5 years of relevant industry or research experience
• MS + 3 years of relevant industry or research experience
• Previous experience with histology evaluation and in vitro cell based assays is required
• Strong cell culture experience, including experience executing protocols, troubleshooting assays is preferred
• Prior experience working with lipid nanoparticles is a plus
• Proven ability to work independently and cross-functionally with highly skilled teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and technical environment
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Motivated, curious, and comfortable working with highly technical projects and personnel
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner
