Job summary

RELX Group's MLex unit seeks a Senior Correspondent to cover UK financial regulation trends. You will conduct research and interviews, break market-moving stories, and deliver deep regulatory analysis under deadline pressure.

Based in Exeter, you will collaborate with international teams to develop forward-looking insights that inform decision-makers across industries and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Great reporting skills and experience in media or publishing.
• Collaborative approach with the ability to work across international teams.
• Commitment to producing high-quality, accurate reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Fluent command of English; knowledge of other European languages is an advantage.
• Newsroom experience, ideally covering financial services regulation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and interviews, turn around urgent copy and write to deadline.
• Identify stories that appeal to the readership.
• Use expertise to write big-impact investigations and commentary pieces.
• Support senior journalists and editors by researching news stories or preparing information for coverage.
• Understand and explain complex regulatory or policy topics, exercise strong news judgement and ensure attention to detail.
