Job summary

MLex, a LexisNexis company, is seeking a reporter to cover financial services regulation with a focus on the UK. You will conduct deep-dives on regulatory trends, break market-moving news and provide forward-looking analysis for decision-makers.

You'll work with international editors and researchers, turn around urgent copy, and explain complex policy topics with precise judgement while maintaining accuracy and high editorial standards.

Qualifications

• Great reporting, media or publishing industry experience or knowledge.
• Collaborative approach with the ability to work across international teams.
• Commitment to producing high-quality, accurate reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent experience.

The core role is covering financial services legislation and regulation, with a focus on the UK. MLex seeks to get ahead of the procedural story through deep-dive analysis of current and emerging trends to anticipate where regulatory risks may lie. It’s a high-pressure beat in which there’s an expectation that you’ll break market-moving news while offering the forward-looking insight that helps inform decision-makers.

• Fluent command of English; ability in other European languages an advantage
• Newsroom experience, ideally from covering financial services regulation
