Job summary

The Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield, part of Circle Health Group, is looking for a Senior Registered Nurse to join our ward teams on a full-time basis. You will lead care for complex patients, administer medications, and work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards and safe patient flow.

Applicants should hold an active NMC registration, have at least 5 years post-registration experience in acute settings, and demonstrate leadership, clinical judgment, and patient‑centred

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with active NMC registration.
• 5 years post-registration experience in an acute or relevant clinical setting.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and support a nursing team.
• Strong clinical decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-focused approach.
• Confidence in working independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care and lead the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for complex patients.
• Use advanced clinical knowledge to make timely and appropriate decisions, escalating where necessary.
• Administer medication safely and monitor patient response, ensuring adherence to NMC and local protocols.
• Delegate tasks appropriately, ensuring safe and effective workload management across the shift.
• Uphold a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with infection prevention, safeguarding, medicines management, and risk reporting procedures.
• Act as a key contact for patients and their families, offering clinical updates, reassurance, and information to support shared decision-making.
• Liaise effectively with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure smooth transitions between services.

Salary: Up to £42,000.00 per year (depending on level of training, qualification and experience)

Circle Health Group has an exciting opportunity for aSenior Registered Nurseto join our friendly and motivated team of staff working on the hospital Wards.

This is afull timerole at 37.5 hours a week across flexible shift patterns.

Duties of this role include:

5 years post-registration experience in an acute or relevant clinical setting.

Proven ability to lead, mentor, and support a nursing team.

Strong clinical decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-focused approach.

Confidence in working independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Previous experience in a senior or supervisory nursing role desirable

SLP trained is preffered.

Experience in a junior management role (Band 6 equivalent) essential.
