Job summary

TLC Care is seeking a Registered Nurse (RGN) for day shifts at Carlton Court Care Home in Barnet. You will assess, plan, administer medications, and lead a care team to deliver high-quality care for elderly residents.

Responsibilities include updating care plans, monitoring health changes, and mentoring junior staff while upholding NMC guidelines and safeguarding standards. A genuine interest in elder care is essential.

Qualifications

• Essential: Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), holding a valid NMC PIN.
• Ability to motivate staff, delegate responsibilities and supervise a care team effectively.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at different levels.
• A genuine interest in caring for older people.
• Satisfactory DBS check and DBS Adult First check.
• Commitment to professional standards and resident confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents’ nursing, health and social care needs and provide direct nursing care.
• Develop, update and review individualised care plans in consultation with residents, relatives and healthcare professionals.
• Administer prescribed medication and maintain accurate records in line with NMC guidelines.
• Act as the named nurse for assigned residents and report health changes.
• Promote dignity, independence and safe mobility of residents.
• Mentor student nurses and carers and attend mandatory training.
