The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Senior Registered Nurse to join our wards team. This full-time role is 37.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern and involvement in night duty rosters.

You will deliver high-quality nursing care, lead on care planning for complex patients, and support a learning environment for students and junior staff. We value compassionate, collaborative, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with active NMC registration.
• Significant post-registration experience in an acute or relevant clinical setting.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor and support a nursing team.
• Strong clinical decision-making, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-focused approach.
• Confidence in working independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care and lead assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for complex patients.
• Use advanced clinical knowledge to make timely decisions and escalate as needed.
• Provide day-to-day supervision and support to nursing and healthcare assistants.
• Mentor, coach and supervise students and junior staff to support development.
• Uphold safety culture by ensuring infection prevention, medicines management, and risk reporting.
• Act as a key contact for patients and families, offering updates and information to support decisions.

Salary: Up to £38,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle Is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for an Senior Registered Nurse to join their team of staff in the Wards department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the wards night duty rota.

Duties of this role include:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care and lead on the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for complex patients.
• Use advanced clinical knowledge to make timely and appropriate decisions, escalating where necessary.
• Provide day-to-day supervision and support to nursing and healthcare assistant staff.
• Support the learning and development of students, junior nurses, and new team members through mentoring, coaching, and clinical supervision.
• Uphold a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with infection prevention, safeguarding, medicines management, and risk reporting procedures.
• Act as a key contact for patients and their families, offering clinical updates, reassurance, and information to support shared decision-making.
