Job summary

Lidl is seeking a Senior Acquisitions Consultant to lead freehold and leasehold acquisitions for new stores across Scotland and the UK, with a focus on delivering end-to-end planning and development processes.

You will negotiate deals, conduct due diligence, manage planning applications and build strong relationships with authorities and developers, while coordinating with a regional property team from our Motherwell office and beyond.

Qualifications

• A self-starting drive to succeed and a proactive attitude.
• Degree-level education (2:2 minimum) in a relevant discipline.
• Exposure to retail acquisitions, land buying, commercial property or town planning is essential.
• Ideally MRICS qualified.
• Well-networked with refined negotiating skills.
• Strong commercial property and legal acumen.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Highly analytical and able to multi-task with conflicting deadlines.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Identifying, negotiating and acquiring freehold and leasehold deals to build new stores.
• Undertake site inspections, development appraisals, manage site, legal and planning due diligence on opportunities.
• Manage planning applications from submission to consent and discharge of conditions.
• Lead expansion, relocation and improvement projects to existing infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities, agents, landlords, tenants and developers.
• Drive the full development and planning process from concept to completion.
• Real estate management of freehold and leasehold assets.
• Train and develop members of the Property Team.
