Job summary

Citigroup in Belfast, Northern Ireland, is seeking a Front-end Web Developer to design and maintain user interfaces with React.js while supporting backend services in Java and related frameworks. You will write clean, well-documented code, participate in code reviews, collaborate with designers and stakeholders, and help ensure security, performance and accessibility across web applications.

This is a full-time role with a hybrid work model—up to two days per week remote—and competitive benefits

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Commercial experience with React.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Understanding of Java and object-oriented programming concepts.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, Git, Agile/Scrum, and SQL databases.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.
• Willingness to learn and accept feedback.
• Experience with Spring Boot and TypeScript is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain user interfaces using React.js and support backend services using Java and related frameworks.
• Write clean, well-documented code, and participate in code reviews and team discussions.
• Debug and resolve application issues; analyze applications for vulnerabilities and security issues; and conduct testing and debugging.
• Collaborate with designers, developers, users, clients, stakeholders, and other technology groups to deliver features and recommended solutions.
• Create and execute unit and integration tests, assist with database design and queries, and apply software development best practices.
• Identify and define system enhancements, analyze problems, recommend solutions, and resolve issues using technical experience.
• Support customer-facing systems, install and support solutions, and consult on technology issues.
• Advise or coach less experienced analysts and serve as a subject matter expert to senior stakeholders or team members.
• Assess and manage risk, comply with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies, and elevate and report control issues transparently.
