Job summary

Experis in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Front End React Engineer to join a major digital transformation programme in Telford. The role is hybrid with a minimum of two days onsite per week and a 6‑month contract.

You will design, develop, and maintain modern web applications using React and JavaScript within an Agile Scrum team, mentor junior developers, and contribute to the migration of legacy functionality. Some exposure to back‑end tech is possible as part of broader delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with JavaScript and React.
• Proven experience delivering complex front-end applications.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and object-oriented design principles.
• Experience with Playwright, HTML, Git/GitLab, JUnit, Maven.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrable leadership, mentoring, and coaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications using React and JavaScript.
• Work within Agile Scrum teams delivering high-quality software in two-week sprint cycles.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Technical Leads, Designers, and Engineers to deliver business‑critical solutions.
• Drive engineering best practices, code quality, and testing standards.
• Coach and mentor less experienced developers.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and solution development.
• Support automated testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of product features.
• Develop a broader understanding of back‑end technologies and cross‑functional delivery.
