Job summary

Unitary is a remote-first AI startup building Virtual Agents for midmarket customers. We seek a senior React engineer to own frontend interfaces, reimagine our frontend into a scalable platform, and blend product thinking with engineering excellence.

You will collaborate with product, design and platform teams to deliver polished, production-grade experiences at speed. This role emphasizes hands-on frontend work, architecture, and fast iteration while maintaining code quality and design-system

Qualifications

• Deep, expert-level experience building production React applications, including state management, performance and testing.
• Deep understanding of TypeScript, modern React tooling (e.g. Next.js, Vite) and design systems.
• Built multiple frontends from the ground up at startups, with scalable architectures.
• Experience re-imagining and refactoring frontend codebases to scale as product and team grow.
• Hands-on with AI coding agents and agentic tools (e.g. Claude Code, Codex).
• Strong product thinking and instincts; care about both features and code quality.
• Advocate of strong software engineering practices, standards and culture.
• Continuing hands-on development for at least 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Own the frontend for our Virtual Agent products and shape customer interfaces.
• Re-imagine and refactor frontend into a scalable, reusable platform with a shared component library.
• Bring strong product thinking to every screen you build, shaping UX with product and design.
• Bridge Product, Design and Platform Engineering to ensure robust frontend support.
