Job summary

Hitachi Rail GTS UK Limited in London is seeking a Senior RAMS Engineer to provide specialist Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Technical Safety expertise across projects, products and bids in the mainline signalling environment. You’ll apply RAMS methods to deliver safety assurance throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in RAMS and safety-critical engineering for rail projects.
• Knowledge of UK mainline signalling and safety regulations.
• Proven ability to deliver RAMS activities through approval and operation.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist Technical Safety, RAM and System Assurance support across projects.
• Deliver RAMS activities from specification and Safety Case development through to safety approval.
• Lead quantitative and qualitative system safety and RAM analyses.
• Manage hazards end-to-end, including safety requirements and SIL determinations.
• Collaborate with customers to define system and safety requirements and verification needs.
• Coordinate RAMS input into bids, including safety management and approvals.
• Lead RAMS during Design Reviews ensuring appropriate implementation.
• Develop remits and manage contracts with independent bodies.
• Prepare and supervise on-site testing and commissioning of railway assets.
• Initiate safety reviews and audits and support incident investigations.
