Job summary

Hitachi Rail in Glasgow is hiring a Production Planner to manage the maintenance plan for the AT200 fleet on a 3-shift basis (days, afters & nights). You will coordinate tasks, materials, tools and resources to meet contractual and performance requirements.

The role requires strong railway operations knowledge, experience in train planning, problem solving and leadership, with extensive use of scheduling tools and SAP MMS to drive reliable maintenance planning. A permanent contract is offered.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of railway operations.
• Experience in train planning and train diagrams.
• Knowledge of railway rules and regulations.
• Strong problem solving ability and quick thinking.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Review dispatch requirements to ensure compliance with TSA contract.
• Assess operational situation to inform maintenance plan.
• Develop and refine maintenance plan for AT200 fleet (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly).
• Identify and prioritise tasks per contractual, performance, technical and safety requirements.
• Create maintenance windows and estimate work hours to generate work orders.
• Liaise with Engineering and Supply Chain to allocate resources.
• Monitor backlog of defects to reduce reactive maintenance and improve reliability.
• Communicate issues to customer within required timescales.
• Plan fleet modifications and coordinate with Train Maintenance Centre.
