Job summary

Arcadis in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior E&P Design Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary rail projects nationwide, including major electrification and station upgrade schemes. You will shape technical solutions, guide teams, and drive delivery to time, cost, and safety standards.

You will apply BS7671 knowledge, GRIP processes, and CRE/Designer experience while managing client relationships and stakeholders. You will mentor others and ensure robust change control and programme delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Power Engineering; Chartered membership desirable.
• Significant experience in UK rail projects with GRIP knowledge.
• Track record in design and management of major electrification schemes and LV building services.
• Experience as Designer/Checker/CRE in renewals, signalling power, point heating, and DNO supplies.
• Strong rail M&E systems knowledge for depots and stations; BS7671 familiarity.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management; project and commercial management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multi-disciplinary rail engineering projects to scope, time and budget.
• Provide effective leadership and technical guidance to project teams.
• Build relationships with clients and stakeholders, exceeding expectations.
• Develop project programmes, financial controls and reporting systems.
• Oversee resource allocation, supplier selection and performance management.
• Champion health, safety and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Mentor team members and support professional development.
