Job summary

Arup’s North Rail team in the UK seeks a Senior Rail Civils Engineer to lead the civil input across complex rail projects in Manchester or Glasgow. You will apply technical judgement to develop safe, innovative design solutions from feasibility through detail design while building trusted client relationships.

You will mentor graduates and technicians, review drawings, support Safe by Design and CDM processes, and contribute to the growth of Arup’s Rail Civils capability while exploring digital

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
• Experience delivering rail civils designs across feasibility to detailed design.
• Knowledge of Network Rail standards and Safe by Design principles.
• Experience as Network Rail CRE is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering input across multidisciplinary rail projects.
• Provide technical leadership, review drawings and calculations.
• Mentor apprentices and engineers; promote best practices.
