Senior Radiographer - Therapeutic

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career as a Therapeutic Radiographer at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care (NCCC), Newcastle. We are a forward-thinking department with an active program of innovation, including MRI-based planning, Hypersight imaging, and Surface Guided Radiotherapy (SGRT) with plans to introduce online adaptive radiotherapy.

As part of our friendly and supportive team, you will contribute to the delivery of radiotherapy treatments to approximately 8,000 patients each year, across both adult and paediatric services. We utilise a wide range of modern techniques, including VMAT, gating, SABR, SRS, and daily IGRT, on our fleet of Varian linear accelerators. We also provide specialist treatments such as SXT, TBI and TSEI.

The post holder will provide technical expertise and radiographer leadership for the radiotherapy service within their specialist area.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Therapeutic Radiographer post at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care at Newcastle.

• Responsible for the management of a team of radiographers and a clinical workload within a specified clinical area, ensuring the highest quality of technical practice and patient care.
• Accountable for the direct delivery of radiotherapy within a specified clinical area.
• Implement and deliver complex radiotherapy procedures including localisation, imaging, dose calculation and treatment delivery.
• Undertake radiotherapy practice independently and professionally in accordance with all protocols and procedures, and with care and accuracy.
• Ensure workload targets are achieved with optimal use of resources
• Participate in and ensure staff & student training/development takes place.
• Contribute to holistic patient care as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing specialist advice and information regarding radiotherapy to patients and their carers.
