Job summary

Buckshaw Hospital, part of Ramsay Health Care UK, is seeking a Senior Radiographer to join our Diagnostic Imaging Team in Chorley. You will deliver high-quality imaging services across X-ray, CT and MRI, supporting junior staff and contributing to service development.

The role requires HCPC registration, a degree or diploma in radiography, and extensive post-registration experience. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment with a focus on patient-centred care and safety.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
• Current HCPC registration as a Radiographer.
• Significant post-registration experience in diagnostic imaging.
• Solid knowledge of IR(ME)R and radiation safety.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience mentoring colleagues and working in a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience with X-ray, CT and MRI is desirable.
• Cannulation and contrast administration experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging in line with standards.
• Perform imaging exams ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Support day-to-day management of the imaging department.
• Mentor junior radiographers and support staff.
• Ensure IR(ME)R compliance and imaging governance.
• Participate in QA, audits and service improvements.
• Collaborate with consultants and clinicians to ensure seamless care.
• Contribute to training and competency assessments.
• Take part in on-call and flexible shift patterns.

Buckshaw Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Radiographer to join our expanding Diagnostic Imaging Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled radiographer to play a key role in delivering outstanding patient care within a modern independent hospital environment.

As a Senior Radiographer, you will support the delivery of a high-quality, safe and efficient imaging service, working closely with multidisciplinary teams across the hospital. You will have the opportunity to contribute to service development, support junior staff and students, and help drive continuous quality improvement.

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services in line with professional, regulatory and local standards


• Undertake a range of imaging examinations whilst ensuring excellent patient care and experience


• Support the day-to-day operational management of the imaging department


• Act as a role model and mentor for junior radiographers and support staff


• Ensure compliance with IR(ME)R, radiation protection requirements and imaging governance standards


• Participate in quality assurance programmes, audits and service improvement initiatives

What you’ll bring with you:

• Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography


• Current HCPC registration as a Radiographer


• Significant post-registration experience within diagnostic imaging


• Strong knowledge of radiation safety, IR(ME)R regulations and imaging governance


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centred care


• Experience supporting, mentoring or supervising colleagues


• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team


• Experience working across multiple imaging modalities including X-ray, CT and MRI (desirable)


• Audit, quality improvement or service development experience (desirable)


• Cannulation certification and contrast administration experience (desirable)
