Job summary

Amentum is recruiting an experienced Radiation Protection Adviser to support our Radiation Protection & Characterisation team. You will provide independent radiation protection advice for a diverse portfolio across nuclear, defence, industrial and regulated sectors.

In this consultancy role you will conduct audits, risk assessments and training. You will work with clients and regulators, displaying technical judgement and practical, commercially aware solutions.

Qualifications

• Significant practical experience in radiation protection or health physics.
• Strong knowledge of IRR17 and related guidance.
• Experience advising clients and operating organisations.
• Ability to interpret legislation into practical advice.
• Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide radiation protection advice to clients in line with IRR17.
• Undertake audits, inspections, and site visits for non-compliance.
• Prepare and review Local Rules, risk assessments and procedures.
• Deliver training and mentor junior Radiation Protection Advisers.
• Produce clear reports and recommendations from engagements.
• Engage with regulators and clients to develop solutions.
• Support business growth through client relationships and tenders.
