Quantinuum in the UK is seeking a Senior Chief Platform Architect to lead the design of a high-performance quantum software development platform. You will guide API/web portal architecture, drive cloud-based hybrid workflows, and shape the technical roadmap while mentoring senior engineers.

The role emphasizes security, scalability, and collaboration with hardware-software teams to deliver robust, production-ready systems across regions.

Qualifications

• 25+ years in software engineering, with at least 5+ years in a senior architect or lead role, specifically within developer platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• Experience leading architectural work for large-scale projects and influencing teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and specifications of a high-performance developer platform.
• Refine quantum computer access API and web portal architecture for performance, scalability and multi-region operation
• Transform web portal into an application development and delivery framework using cloud-based hybrid workflow engine
• Define standard interfaces for hosting components and building apps by internal and external developers
• Ensure security and reliability of the platform as it scales
• Deliver customizable cloud-based hybrid applications to end users
• Contribute to technology roadmap and translate business needs into technical requirements
• Mentor senior engineers and establish best coding practices
