Job summary

OQC is seeking a Staff Scientist specialized in Quantum Error Correction (QEC) Theory to shape fault-tolerant quantum computing. You will develop hardware‑aware error correction strategies for multimode superconducting processors and work at the interface of theory and hardware to advance the GENESIS platform and Dimon architecture.

This senior role offers scientific autonomy, mentorship of researchers, and the opportunity to translate breakthroughs into practical hardware requirements.

Qualifications

• PhD in Quantum Information or equivalent research track record.
• Strong contributions to quantum error correction or related quantum information research.
• Deep understanding of stabiliser formalism, noise channels and fault tolerance.

Responsibilities

• Define scientific direction for OQC's QEC strategy and research agenda.
• Develop hardware‑aware QEC schemes for multimode superconducting processors.
• Design and benchmark quantum codes and decoders using syndrome measurements and erasure data.
• Collaborate with experimentalists to translate theory into hardware requirements and experiments.
• Lead investigations, develop reproducible tools, and communicate findings via publications.
