Job summary

Infleqtion is seeking a Quantum Error Correction Specialist to design, analyze, and implement fault-tolerant architectures supporting scalable quantum computation. You will develop QEC codes, decoding algorithms, and gate constructions tailored to our hardware platforms.

Qualifications

• PhD in theoretical physics, mathematics, computer science, or related to quantum information science (QIS).
• 2+ years postdoctoral experience (or industry equivalent) in QEC preferred.
• Experience tailoring error-correcting codes for quantum devices and bridging theory/experiment.
• Strong publication record in relevant fields.
• Proficient in scientific computing.
• Professional communication across levels and teams.
• Collaborative, cross-functional team experience.
• Ability to learn new topics quickly and contribute to productization of research.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue QEC research advancing theory and experiments.
• Develop and optimize QEC protocols for experimental devices, focusing on neutral atom platforms.
• Model noise and simulate performance; evaluate decoders.
• Develop and implement custom QEC decoders.
• Collaborate with hardware, control, and software teams to translate theory into practice.
• Publish findings and present at conferences; stay current with QEC developments.
