Job summary

QinetiQ Group plc in Malvern is seeking a Senior Quantum Engineer to develop and apply quantum technologies across sensing, navigation or computing. You will perform quantum and systems engineering activities, deliver technical work packages, and contribute to multidisciplinary project teams.

The role involves leading small technical teams, producing documentation and supporting decision-making with modelling and analysis.

Qualifications

Experience in quantum engineering with a focus on quantum sensing, quantum navigation or quantum computing.
Strong understanding of physics, linear algebra, computational science or related engineering fields.
Experience applying systems engineering processes across the engineering lifecycle.
Ability to develop technical documentation including requirements, specifications, reports and engineering plans.
Evidence of continuing professional development within a relevant technical discipline.

Responsibilities

Deliver quantum engineering activities and technical work packages in support of project objectives.
Lead small technical teams and coordinate technical outputs.
Produce high-quality technical documentation, reports, plans and specifications.
Apply systems engineering principles throughout the project lifecycle.
Identify, assess and escalate technical risks, issues and dependencies.
Support technical decision-making through analysis, modelling and engineering evidence.
