Job summary

QinetiQ Limited in Malvern is seeking a Senior Quantum Engineer to develop and apply cutting-edge quantum technologies. You will contribute to technical excellence and project success across quantum sensing, navigation or computing, working within multidisciplinary teams.

Day-to-day, you will undertake quantum engineering and systems engineering activities from concept through implementation, lead small teams, and produce robust technical documentation to support project decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience in quantum engineering with a focus on quantum sensing, navigation or computing.
• Strong understanding of physics, linear algebra, computational science or related engineering fields.
• Experience applying systems engineering processes across the lifecycle.
• Ability to develop technical documentation including requirements, specifications, reports and engineering plans.
• Ability to communicate technical information effectively with multidisciplinary stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Delivering quantum engineering activities and technical work packages in support of project objectives.
• Leading small technical teams and coordinating technical outputs.
• Producing high-quality technical documentation, reports, plans and specifications.
• Applying systems engineering principles throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identifying, assessing and escalating technical risks, issues and dependencies.
• Supporting technical decision-making through analysis, modelling and engineering evidence.
