Job summary

Aegiq Ltd., a Sheffield-based quantum technology company, is seeking a Senior Quantum Applications Scientist to help develop quantum and quantum-ready algorithms for solving PDEs relevant to fluid dynamics, energy and materials modelling.

You will work across quantum, classical and hybrid computing, benchmark new approaches, collaborate with software and hardware teams, and contribute to research, publications and strategic directions.

Qualifications

• Background in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science with expertise in quantum computing or numerical PDE methods.
• Strong mathematical and numerical problem-solving abilities to tackle complex computational problems.
• Interest in applying quantum computing technologies to real-world simulation problems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and benchmark quantum, quantum-inspired and quantum-ready algorithms for solving PDEs and related problems.
• Implement numerical methods using classical, quantum and hybrid computing approaches with focus on accuracy, performance and scalability.
• Translate real-world simulation requirements into computational models and benchmarks.
