Job summary

Alexander Associates Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor for the Rickmansworth area with a flexible hybrid work arrangement. You will lead commercial activities across project lifecycles, ensuring cost control and contractual compliance on water and infrastructure projects.

You will manage payments, valuations, final accounts, and mentor junior team members while building strong client relationships and contributing to best practices and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent is required.
• Chartered membership or working towards it is preferred.
• Experience in utilities, water, civil engineering, infrastructure or MEICA.
• Strong NEC contracts knowledge and commercial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial responsibility for assigned projects and work packages.
• Collaborate with design, construction, and supply chain teams to monitor and control project costs.
• Build and maintain productive client relationships to ensure project and business objectives are achieved.
• Manage contracts, including the administration of contractual notices and correspondence.
• Prepare and issue subcontract documentation.
• Support the management and performance of subcontractors.
• Manage applications for payment, valuations, and final accounts.
• Produce accurate cost reports, budgets, forecasts, and commercial updates.
• Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and commercial best practices.
• Maintain awareness of industry developments through ongoing professional development.

• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Excellent commercial and stakeholder management skills.
