Job summary

My client, one of Scotland's largest local authorities, is seeking senior Quantity Surveyors for long-term contracts. Hybrid working applies with on-site attendance as required.

Roles cover cost management, procurement, contract administration, payments, and financial governance across housing and regeneration projects. We are looking for candidates with RICS accreditation or equivalent, extensive QS experience in design/construction, strong Excel and ICT skills, and knowledge of public sector

Qualifications

• RICS-accredited degree or degree with relevant postgraduate qualification.
• Significant experience in quantity surveying within the design and construction sector.
• Experience using computerised billing systems.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience in housing and/or public sector environments.
• Knowledge of public sector procurement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary budgets, cost plans, and monitor project expenditure.
• Assist in identifying effective procurement and sourcing methods.
• Support project delivery in line with council procedures.
• Prepare contract documentation, specifications, bills of quantities, and contract conditions.
• Participate in tender evaluations and prepare tender reports.
• Carry out site measurements and manage contractor payments.
• Control project costs and agree final accounts and contractual claims.
• Assist the Principal Designer in meeting CDM Regulations 2015 obligations.
