Job summary

GLOBAL RECRUITMENT LTD is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for a permanent, office-based role in Paisley. The successful candidate will oversee commercial management across multiple contracts in the social housing and public sector space, ensuring accurate valuations and timely invoicing.

You will apply SoR and manage costs, variations and payments, with strong Excel and negotiation skills to protect profitability and drive project success.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Social Housing, Repairs & Maintenance or Construction.
• Knowledge of Schedule of Rates (SoR) and contract valuations.
• Experience managing costs, variations and applications for payment.
• Strong numerical, analytical and Excel skills.
• Excellent communication, organisation and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of allocated contracts.
• Prepare valuations, applications for payment, quotations and variations.
• Ensure completed works are accurately valued and billed promptly.
• Apply relevant Schedule of Rates (SoR), ideally M3NHF/NHF or similar.
• Monitor budgets, costs, margins and Work in Progress (WIP).
• Review labour, materials and subcontractor costs to protect profitability.
• Liaise with clients and Contract Managers to resolve commercial queries.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities to maximise revenue.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and update job management systems.
• Support tender pricing and ongoing contract performance reviews.
