Role / Responsibilities
- Take sole responsibility for a project or a section of a project.
- Perform all Senior Quantity Surveying duties including measurement, valuation, and agreement of work sections.
- Prepare and manage interim payment applications and certifications.
- Draft, manage, and settle subcontracts.
- Manage and report on monthly costs.
- Draft and prepare claims.
- Prepare and agree on final accounts.
- Manage any trainees, assistant QS, or QS on a day-to-day basis.
- Negotiate with client's representatives, subcontractors, and other consultants to achieve project results while maintaining relationships.
- Advise project management on contractual implications and commercial risks.
- Prepare and manage contract review reports and business plan information.
- Assist in establishing the project budget from contract award.
- Identify and implement change control processes.
- Ensure proper execution of contract documents before project start.
- Communicate clearly and confidently to a professional standard.
- Keep your manager fully informed of any issues or risks.
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
- Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
- Experience supporting a commercial manager on larger projects or managing an area of a large project (£25m+).
- Structures experience is desirable.
