Job summary

Pinnacle Recruitment Ltd is seeking a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major Birmingham project inside a live healthcare facility. The role focuses on protecting margin, managing supply chain and keeping the project commercially on track.

Open to candidates from building or MEP backgrounds with experience on live or constrained sites such as hospitals or data centres.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent commercial experience in construction/building services/MEP.
• Track record as a QS on major projects, preferably in live/operational environments.
• Experience delivering commercial value on building/MEP packages with cost control and procurement.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of all commercial matters within your package area.
• Value works, cost reconciliations and cost/value reports.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities, schedules of rates and first-principles estimates.
• Track progress with the delivery team and align with milestones.
• Administer subcontract accounts from valuation to final account.
• Support procurement with tender packages and subcontract analysis.
• Manage client and stakeholder relationships to balance commercial outcomes.
• Identify and manage risk including change, delay and disruption.
• Minimize hospital disruption while maintaining cost, value and quality on MEP/building packages.
