Job summary

Kier Group in Oxford is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Rail team based at Oxford Station. This role focuses on leading commercial activities on allocated projects, ensuring safety, timely delivery and profitability.

Hours: 45 per week with some flexibility. You will manage subcontractor accounts, prepare valuations and monthly applications, and mentor junior surveyors while building strong client and supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience managing subcontractor accounts and preparing valuations.
• Proficient in cost control, using indicators to drive profitability and mitigate risks.
• Working understanding of contract conditions and payment processes.
• Enjoys building collaborative relationships with teams, clients and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Managing all aspects of subcontractor accounts and procurement to secure maximum value.
• Preparing interim valuations, final accounts, and monthly applications for payment to clients.
• Leading cost control activities to ensure profitability and working with site teams.
• Compiling and agreeing variations, managing the project risk register and opportunities.
• Supporting and developing junior surveyors and maintaining relationships with clients and suppliers.
